COMPOSITION
Active substance: Pylocarpine 1 g/100 ml
Excipient (distilled water) up to 100 ml
PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION
Acts similarly to the parasympathic chemical mediator, acetylcholine, which increases the gastrointestinal, lachrymal, bronchial secretions, enriches the tonus and amplitude of the intestinal peristalsis, contracts the uterine muscles, causes bradycardia and myosis (when inoculated in the conjunctival sack).

INDICATIONS
In horses- for the treatment of edema, acute laminitis, hydropsy, indigestions after not enough maturated fodder consumption. It can also be used together with atropine sulfate for various eye affections (regular ophtalmia, glaucoma) to prevent synechia between the crystalline and adjacent tissues.
In dog - as purgative in constipations.
Pylocarpine is also used as antidote in intoxications with parasympaticolitics (atropine).
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Do not use in case of cardiac, pulmonary conditions and in pregnant females due to the effect on the uterine muscles.
Do not use in horses intended for meat consumption.
Do not use in case of colics in horses.

METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
Inject the following doses of PYLOCARPINE 1% by subcutaneous route:
• In horses: 3-20 ml depending on size. Divide the high doses so as not to exceed 5 ml/animal. If necessary, administer the rest of the dose after 1-2 hours;
• In dog: 0.3 – 0.5 ml.
Administer 1-2 drops as eye instillation in glaucoma.
During strokes in regular ophthalmic disease (early stage), apply as instillations in the conjunctival sack, 5-10 drops and alternate with myotics (atropine).
WARNINGS
Do not exceed 5 ml for divided dose in horse.
Administer pylocarpine in dog only after an appropriate animal hydration.
After inoculation of the product, do not give the animal water or food for 30-40 minutes.
