COMPOSITION

120 mg tablet contains:

Active substances: Oxytetracycline hydrochloride 14 mg; Furazolidone 4 mg

Excipients (lactose, starch, PVP K30, CMC, aerosil, talcum, avicel, magnesium stearate) up to 120 mg

PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION

Oxytetracycline is a broad spectrum antibiotic with bacteriostatic action against Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria.

Furazolidone is a chemotherapeutic agent with significant antimicrobial action against some Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria and against also some protozoa (Histomonas sp., Trichomonas sp., Giardia, coccidii etc.)

The product is active in treatment of ailments induced by protozoa (coccidian, Trichomonas, etc.) large viruses and mycoplasma in ornamental and racing pigeons.

TARGET SPECIES

Dogs, cats, cage and flight cage birds, racing or ornamental pigeons.

INDICATIONS

In dogs and cats: in pneumopathy, secondary infections associated with parvovirosis, in some protozoa infections.

Treatment of coccidiosis and trichomonosis in cage or flight cage birds, except the pheasant.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Do not use in suckling puppies.

Do not use in cage birds intended for human consumption.

Do not use OXIFURAN in palmipeds.

METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION

• in dogs and cats: 1/2 tablet/0.5 kg body weight administered per se or incorporated in a small volume of water after the previous grinding, for 3 – 5 days

• cage and flight cage birds, racing and ornamental pigeons: 1 tablet grinded and incorporated into 100 g fodder or, individually, in dose of 1/2 tablet/0.5 kg body weight, for 5 – 7 days;

WARNINGS

Comply with the recommended treatment schedules.

Administration of the product should be associated with vitamins.

In dogs and cats who refuse to ingest the tablets, these are grinded and mixed with small amount of water and then administered in the mouth commissure using a syringe without needle or a teaspoon.

In cage birds and flight cage birds the dose to be administered is mixed with sugar and afterwards with the slightly wetted feeds, especially when grains are used. Sugar contributes to taste correction and medicine adherence to the seeds.
