PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION

Erythromicin thiocyanate is a broad spectrum antibiotic with bacteriostatic action. It crosses the lipide structure cells due to its liposoluble character and inactivates the mycoplasma. It is active mostly against infections with Mycoplasma gallisepticum and some Gram-positive (Staphylcoccus spp., Streptococcus spp.) and Gram-negative (Pasteurella spp., Haemophilus spp., Escherichia coli) bacteria. Unlike other antibiotics, erythromycin does not induce disorders in calcium absorption from feed and nor antibiotic resistance phenomenon. Vitamins and minerals act as biocatalyst for metabolism and increase the infection body resistance.
