COMPOSITION:

PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION:

Abamectin is endectocide (acting against endo- and ectoparasites); it causes paralysis of the nematodes and the arthropods (insects and acarids) by suppressing the transmission of nervous impulses in the interneuron synapses of nematodes as well as in the neuromuscular synapses of arthropods. This is realized by stimulating the release of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) from presynaptic nerve endings which increases its binding to the postsynaptic receptors. It is well tolerated by mammals as GABA is localized in the central nervous system where abamectin does not penetrate. It is harmless to the pregnant animals.

INDICATIONS:

For treatment of gastrointestinal and pulmonary nematodiasis (ostertagiasis, hemonchosis, trichostrongylosis, cooperiasis, parafilariasis, oesophagostomosis , bunostomiasis , nematodiriasis, dictyocaulosis), as well as in case of invasion with pasture ticks, lice, psoroptic and sarcoptic mange and hypodermiasis in large ruminants; for treatment of gastrointestinal and pulmonary nematodiasis (hemonchosis, ostertagiasis, trichostrongylosis, cooperiasis, oesophagostomosis, nematodiriasis , strongyloidiasis, chabertiosis, trichuriasis, gaigeriasis, and in case of invasions with pasture ticks, melophagosis and oestrosis in small ruminants; for treatment of nematodiasis (strongyloidosis, parascaridosis, trichostrongylosis, microfilariasis) and gasterophilosis in horses; for treatment of nematodiasis (ascariasis, strongyloidiasis, oesophagostomosis) as well as in case of invasions with lice and sarcoptic mange in pigs.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

The preparation must not be applied to other animals than the mentioned. Do not apply during lactating period.

MODE OF ADMINISTRATION:

Orally.

The prescribed dose is homogeneously mixed with 1/2 - 1/3 of the portion of feed for one feeding of the respective animal species.

TARGET SPECIES:

Ruminants, horses, sheep, pigs.

For meat:

Large and small ruminants - 21 days after the last administration of the preparation.

Pigs - 14 days after the last administration of the preparation.

For milk:

Large and small ruminants - 14 days after the last administration of the preparation.
